The Images of Miami Represented by Photographer’s Models
For all the beauty and interesting subject matter that can be seen within the sights and colors of Miami beaches, nightlife and natural wonders, it’s really the people that make up the spirit of Miami. When I capture the essence of the Miami human experience with my camera, I know that I have truly depicted the spirit that gives life to this constantly evolving and mesmerizing city. So it is with all model photographers in Miami. Those who include (or specialize) in using models in their photography will understand what it take to be successful in this field.
To begin with, when I look through the lens of my camera at a model, I’m entirely focused on whether that person either sets the proper mood or tells his or her own story with the qualities that they project. I start by looking at the whole image. Is it unique and captivating? Does it make the viewer stop for a moment and reflect? If so, then I begin to concentrate on the technical details of the impression that the model is presenting to the eye.
I find that the first thing that is noticed is known as “head placement”. Successful model photographers in Miami understand that an entire story may be woven just from the way the model’s head is situated in relation to the camera. A mood is communicated in the way our bodies move and position, when we rest. These moods blend with the corresponding Miami backdrops to form their own novels of expression that can stay with a viewer, for many years to come.
The richness of vibrant color will also give the model photographers in Miami an advantage when it comes to drawing the viewer into the photo. This, combined with exotic locales, form the magic that I attempt to convey through my subjects. The success that I achieve may be judged by those who see my photos on display here.
For facial expressions, an experienced photographer will know how each nuance of a model’s face will express an emotion. The depth of emotion expressed by a model’s eyes, for example, will indicate joy, sadness or love. Those emotions, that are depicted by the model’s eyes, may be in harmony with the rest of the body’s positioning – or it may be in contrast with it. When considering these possibilities in conjunction with the varied backdrops of Miami life, the story possibilities are endless. Even the pupils of the eyes can be a magnet for emotion. No matter the scenery, the color or the body’s position, the pupils may add or take away from the effect of a photo.
I invite you to view my snapshots of Miami life. The places, the lights and the people. Hopefully, you’ll see an image that will stay with you in the years to come, as well.
